「史卡博羅市集(Scarborough Fair)」與「綠袖子(Green Sleeves)」並列英格蘭最有名的民謠，這是一首古老的「謎歌(riddle song)」—用一些很難達到的要求，來考驗對方對自己的感情。這其實是一種含蓄的愛的表現。
「Scarborough Fair」的歌詞曲調約略追溯到十三世紀的英格蘭。Scarborough Fair是中世紀的一個定期市集(現今英國有個小鎮正叫做Scarborough)，一直到1788年停止之前，傳統上於8月15日開始，持續45天。
歌詞第二句唱到了四種香草：香芹/荷蘭芹(parsley)、鼠尾草(sage)、迷迭香(rosemary)和百里香(thyme，其發音同「time」)，分別代表愛情的甜蜜、力量、忠誠與勇氣。
此曲因賽門與葛芬柯(Simon and Garfunkel)為電影《畢業生》改編為主題曲(當年曾超過了披頭四，登上了1968年暢銷歌曲排行榜的榜首)而走紅全球，至今已經有無數的翻唱版本。
順便說，歌詞中使用了較少見的文法：「remember me to sb.」，意思是「代我問候某人」。

Trinití(美聲三姊妹)：來自愛爾蘭的女子三人組合，經由恩雅的首張專輯製作人的製作，呈現出嶄新的空靈、神秘氣氛。
Mediaeval Baebes(聖堂辣妹)：嘗試還原中世紀音樂樣貌的女子組合，讓此曲散發出古典的氣息。
Gregorian(教皇合唱團)：莎拉布萊曼御用製作人Frank Peterson構想成立的團體，用葛利果聖歌的形式詮釋歌曲。
Amy Nuttall：Amy的版本在首度曝光後便在Classic FM TV 引起極高的點播率。她身兼歌手與演員雙重身分，收錄這首歌的個人首張專輯獲得英國古典音樂榜第四名的佳績，並被提名2006年的Classical BRIT Awards最佳專輯。

我想找都找不到說~= =a
只是我聽的時候總會不小心想到巧媳婦之類的民間故事（毆）

另外，要怎麼分辨電影地主題曲是哪首啊？我印象中被稱為《畢業生》主題曲的就有他們的The Sound of Silence和Scarborough Fair/Canticle而且我之前還跟《四個畢業生》混在一起，以為Lisa Leob的歌也是那部電影的主題曲，想說：「哇！這個電影怎麼會有三個主題曲啊？」
不過就是沒完整版~= =a
尤其愛上芳香療法後就從聽覺又延伸到嗅覺了(呵~)
我記得曾聽或看到這首歌的小典故
好像是描述一位軍人他的愛人離他而去
他在難過之餘開出這些破鏡重圓的條件
..
但既然愛人已棄他而去
他還開出這種天方夜譚的條件
是不是有點矛盾與自欺欺人呢??
還真讓人覺得"男人心.海底深"呢~~
從小時候就喜歡這首歌
聽過好多版本
聽來廳去還是喜歡賽門與葛芬柯的
也許是帶有某種力道吧
每次聽他們唱都想掉淚
